Mark's photos

Introduction

These are a few photos I've taken, from the year following me getting a camera for my birthday in May 1998.

My camera is a Nikon F301. It's a manual focus, but auto-exposure, SLR. Most of the pictures are taken with a Nikon series E 50mm lens, which came with the camera. A few are taken with a Sigma 28-80 zoom; as a cheaper lens and a zoom the quality is noticably worse so I prefer to use the 50mm lens where possible, but the extra flexibility of a zoom is sometimes useful. I also have a Sigma 70-300 zoom, which seems to be better made than the 28-80 and I've found quite useful, but I didn't have it when any of the photos here were taken.

I'd like to scan these again some time, as some of these are rather over-compressed. I've also got a lot more photos now.

My ex-housemate's scanner, which these were scanned on, has an occasional fault which gives scans a red tone. While generally undesirable, the result is rather attractive on this photo
